Hey Nonny’s first sell-out was our first Café Carly cabaret show — featuring Chicago’s most talented young musical theater performers, wrangled into a uniquely-themed show by hometown girl (and former NYC cabaret performer) Carly Stocking. Every Café Carly presents different songs, performers and jokes, but every one is a polished, high-energy songfest for delighted crowds. This December, come see a show to get you in the holiday spirit without hearing the same songs you’ve been hearing on the radio for months! Enjoy out of the box music to get you in the mood for the season, featuring Carly Stocking, Kim Green, Amanda Walsh, Nicky Mendelsohn, Joe Giovannetti, and Kevin Pollack.
Carly Stocking is an Arlington Heights native and received her BFA in Acting from Illinois Wesleyan University. She returned to Chicago after spending five years in New York City producing, directing, and performing in cabaret shows. Carly is co-owner and director of Setting the Stage in Arlington Heights. Theatre credits include: Cinderella in Cinderella, Miep Gies in The Diary of Anne Frank, and Helen in the West Coast Premier of Bob (B Street Theatre), and As You Like It (Milburn Stone).
Joe Giovannetti, an Arlington Heights native, is a singer, actor, teacher and arts administrator living in Chicago. Joe is excited to be appearing in his third Cafe Carly cabaret, after singing in Homeward Bound and Oh, Grow Up!.Recent Chicago theatre credits include Sunset Boulevard (Artie Green, Porchlight Music Theatre), All That He Was (The Lover, Pride Films and Plays), A Chorus Line (Frank, Porchlight),The Full Monty (Malcolm MacGregor, Theo Ubique), The Most Happy Fella (Herman, Theo Ubique, Jeff Award Nomination for Supporting Actor). When not performing, Joe works full time in the Development office at Goodman Theatre.
Kim Green – This December, you can catch Kim playing Sparkle, an elf, in Eleanor’s Very Merry Christmas Wish at The Greenhouse Theatre in Chicago! The show runs through December 29th. Kevin Pollack is so excited be back in his second Café Carly cabaret! Past credits include Franklin Hart, Jr. in 9 to 5 (Big Noise Theatre), The Voice of Audrey 2 in Little Shop of Horrors (Deerfield Family Theatre/Woodstock Opera House), Roger Ebert in The Black/White Love Play (Black Ensemble Theatre) and playing Joe Cocker in the Jeff-Award nominated Men of Soul (Black Ensemble Theatre). Three quarters of the year, Kevin can be seen as Joliet Jake in The Blooze Brothers, the #1 Blues Brothers tribute in the Midwest. He also has a hit single and Award-winning music video, “Man About Town” available on YouTube, iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. He just recently played the Southpoint Hotel & Casino with Billboard-charting artist Frankie Moreno in Las Vegas!! He’s released 2 other singles, “Something Good (Is Comin’ Down)” and his latest single “Holiday”. Look for his upcoming EP out soon!
Nicky Mendelsohn is thrilled to be back for his 4th Cafe Carly! Nicky is currently working on Annie with Citadel Theater! Other Chicago credits include Freaky Friday (Williams Street Rep), Poseidon! (Hell in a Handbag), Flies! The Musical!, It’s Only a Play (Pride Films and Plays), and Tony and Tina’s Wedding (Chicago Theatre Works). Regional credits include Timerlake Playhouse, The Round Barn, Priscilla Beach Theater, and Cedar Point. Nicky holds a BFA from Western Michigan University. He would like to thank his family and Nick for the love!
Amanda Walsh hails from the suburbs, but currently resides in Chicago. She holds a degree in Music Education from Illinois State University. Favorite musical theatre roles include Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Lady of the Lake (Spamalot), and Nancy (Oliver!). By day, Amanda is a Chicago Public Schools Pre-K teacher, where she sings at her kids all the time and ties a lot of shoes.
