The space between genres, where the only tangible is the power of music; that’s where you find Allegra Malone. Born to Southern and European parents, love for the blues and church music were formative influences evident in her vocal tener. Performing began in the Epiphany Gospel choir in Seattle, as did her love for the guitar and all things rock and roll. A perfect hybrid of writer and performer, Allegra finds inspiration in her roots since her move to Chicago (after singing back up for numerous R&B singers including Chicago’s Lynne Jordan). Her straight forward song writing, powerhouse vocals and A List band play with a scorching momentum that has garnered her a solid place in the Roots Americana and Blues landscape. Known as the “Hoyle sister” of the beloved Chicago honky tonk heroes The Hoyle Brothers, she can be seen playing locally at The House of Blues, Fitzgerald’s, City Winery and other notable Chicago venues.
