Electric Gradyland is the Jimi Hendrix tribute you’ve been waiting for. The group formed at a fateful late night jam session that saw three of Chicago’s most prolific musicians finally play together for the first time. After finding common ground in the musical legacy of Jimi Hendrix, Electric Gradyland was born.
The group features bassist Janis Wallin (Family Groove Company, Old Shoe, et al) and drummer Michael Schroeder (Helping Phriendly Orchestra, Terrapin Flyer) joining forces with dynamic guitarist Bill Grady (Cornmeal, Peach Jam). After studying Hendrix’s catalog at Berklee College of Music with guitar aficionado Julien Kasper and world renowned drummer Kenwood Dennard, it was only a matter of time before Grady found the perfect groove with this electrifying rhythm section.
For the members of Electric Gradyland, playing Hendrix’s music is not just a means to pay tribute to a musical legend but a way to keep his music alive and introduce it to new audiences. They are committed to continuing Hendrix’s legacy and inspiring future generations of musicians to pick up their instruments and rock. After seeing this trio, the only answer to the question “Are You Experienced?” is a resounding yes!
