Luke Malewicz is one of the premier jazz trombonists in Chicago. He’s a native of Nowa Sol, Poland, and moved to Chicago at age 11, when he was already a budding trombone phenom. After receiving degrees from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and the Manhattan School of Music, he returned to Chicago, where he’s a regular at Andy’s Jazz Club, the Jazz Showcase, and the famous Green Mill. Luke is the leader of the Heritage Big Band – the 16-piece big band formerly known as the East Hubbard Street Big Band, that wowed Hey Nonny audiences back in November. When he’s on the road, Luke has performed with Mary Wilson, The Four Tops, the Temptations, and the Grammy-Award- winning Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.
