About the Artist

Amy Heller Zimmerman is a multidisciplinary artist based in the Chicagoland area. Amy’s love of acting has deep roots in Arlington Heights – she first appeared on the stages of community theater Setting the Stage, South Middle School, and Rolling Meadows High School. Later she studied theater at Loyola University Chicago, Black Box Academy, and the Second City.
Since graduating, Amy has gone on to produce, write, act and direct in professional plays (Fragments: A Sit Around at the Underground Theater, For the Record at The Prop Thtr), musical comedy sketch shows (Single All the Way 2016-2022, 2020 Sketchfest), variety shows (The Hideout, Chicago Theaterworks), film festivals (Chicago Winter Film Faire), short films (The Reception) and a feature film (My Little Renaissance Girl).
Amy is thrilled to bring My Little Renaissance Girl back to her hometown as a tribute to the wonderful community that raised her and nurtured her passion for the arts. She would like to dedicate this screening to Patty Dixon, Mary Luckritz and her mom, Vicki Heller, because these women made her feel seen as an artist at a young age and instilled in her a belief that, if you humbly put in the work no dream is out of reach.
