One of Chicago’s most recognized voices, Wayne Messmer steps away from his role as a premier singer
of the National Anthem, as he puts it, “to prove that I know more than one song.” He brings his trio to
the Hey Nonny stage for two shows, featuring veteran pianist Bobby Schiff.
A fixture on the Chicago sports scene, most notably, with the Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Wolves, and
formerly the Chicago Blackhawks, Wayne Messmer, a native Chicagoan, recording artist and lifelong
musician shares an entertaining mix of jazz, cabaret, Broadway, pop and standards. As a classic crooner,
he is adept at handling a wide variety of music, including his favorite musical era of tunes from Great
American Songbook with ease.
His book, The Voice Of Victory and his CD Release, So Lucky To Be Loving You with pianist Judy Roberts, has been critically acclaimed. The Wayne Messmer Radio Show is heard Sunday nights from 7-8pm on
Chicago’s Jazz Station, 90.9FM/WDCB.org
